Description

The Shocking Return of Ahmad

As soon as he entered, he did exactly as Sadeeq had done earlier—his eyes fell on someone sitting on the chair who resembled his own son. The same son he had lost hope of ever seeing again after five long years. Now here he was, alive, right in front of him, like a miracle.

Slowly, he walked closer, his trembling hand resting on the chair for support, fearing his weak legs might give way before reaching his own blood. His hand, shaking uncontrollably, touched Ahmad’s cheeks—Ahmad, who had slipped into unconsciousness, unaware of what was happening.

“Ah… Ahmmad! You mean you’ve been alive all these years? Where have you been all this time? How did your story vanish from earth and sky without a trace?”

Detective Sadeeq stood silently while the father spoke. After a pause, Ahmad’s eyes flickered, and he glanced faintly toward Sadeeq. All this while, AM Aliyu had been watching quietly from the doorway. He finally turned, bowed his head, and spoke with urgency:

“Sadeeq, you told me he walked in by himself, healthy and conscious. Then what made him collapse like this?”

“Abbah, I don’t know. He just held his head, and before I knew it, he fainted.”

“Then what are you waiting for? Look at him, he’s nothing like himself anymore. Call the medical team immediately. Prepare the private jet—we’re flying him abroad right away. He needs thorough medical tests and at least two years of proper rest before he can return.”

“Yes, Abbah. I’ll arrange everything right now.”

Without wasting time, preparations began. By nightfall, General Ahmad had been flown to Egypt for treatment, thanks to the wealth and influence of his family. AM Aliyu personally oversaw his departure, knowing Egypt was familiar to Ahmad since much of his past life had been spent there.

Household Tensions Spark

Meanwhile, back at home, Sameer sat in the living room watching a military film, remote in hand, completely absorbed. Beside him, Fatee fidgeted with frustration, shooting him dagger-like glances. Across from her sat Maimuna, focused on her laptop but fully aware of the tension.

“Fatee, if you’re this angry, why don’t you just go to your room? You’ve got your own TV and everything. Why glare at him like this?” Maimuna asked gently.

But Fatee wasn’t backing down. “Anty Maimuna, I picked up the remote first, but he snatched it away. Why should he bully me just because he’s stronger? What’s so interesting in these soldiers’ nonsense anyway?”

Sameer ignored her words and turned up the volume. Everyone in the house knew his temper—silence usually preceded him exploding in anger.

“I’ll tell Abbah when he gets back,” Fatee threatened. “You come home from work and just disturb people.”

With a deep sigh, Sameer dropped the remote and gave her a withering look. “You think I’m joking with you? Just because you’re the youngest here, you believe you can do whatever you like? Ummah isn’t here now. Be careful before I break you in two. And if you try telling Abbah, don’t forget I’ll tell him about your sneaky outings and secret phone calls.”

“I don’t chase boys,” she retorted, pouting. “I just hang out sometimes.”

Before Sameer could react, his phone rang. Thinking it might be work-related, he answered quickly. His expression changed as he listened:

“What are you saying? You actually saw Ahmad alive? Even Abbah saw him?…”

“Which Ahmad?” asked Hajiya Maryam sharply, stepping into the living room in her elegant designer attire.

Sameer stuttered nervously. “Ummah… Ahmad was found alive today. Abbah saw him himself, but he fainted and has already been flown to Egypt for treatment.”

“Egypt? Just like that?” She clenched her fist, struggling to control her emotions. Was it fear, anger, or something else? No one could tell. “Fatee, when your father returns, inform me immediately.”

On her way to her quarters, she secretly dialed a number. “Hello, Neelah? Confirm for me right now if it’s really Ahmad who appeared, or just someone else. And make sure no one suspects you’re investigating.”

“Yes, my lady. I’ll handle it.”

“If it’s truly him, then we’re in serious trouble. Everything we planned could collapse. Be very careful.”

Conflict and Drama in the Household

Moments later, loud crashing sounds came from the living room. Maryam hurried back to find Mulaifah smashing the center table, her face wet with tears.

“Why would they do this to me? I’ve waited all these years for Ahmad’s return, and now he’s here—yet they’ve taken him abroad without telling me!” she cried.

Maryam exploded. “Who do you think you are, causing a scene in my house? You insignificant woman, do you think you’re the mistress here?”

Mulaifah’s eyes burned with defiance. “Yes, I have every right in this house! My mother was from here too. Everyone knows Ahmad loved me. Our marriage was planned before his so-called ‘death.’ And now that he’s back, I will marry him, no matter what you say!”

Maryam slapped her hard across the face. “You shameless fool!”

At that moment, AM Aliyu walked in. Mulaifah ran to him in tears. “Abba, see how she treats me! Just because I said Ahmad has returned, she struck me. You know I’ve been waiting for him all these years!”

Aliyu tried to calm her. “Enough. Go and stay with Mammah for now.”

With that, Mulaifah stormed out, still weeping. Maryam glared at Aliyu with cold fury before leaving in the opposite direction.

The younger siblings, Maimuna and Fatee, only exchanged glances. They were used to this endless drama. Fatee, grinning mischievously, muttered: “Ah, I missed this. Now that Yah Ahmad is back, the real drama is about to begin.”

Maimuna shook her head in disbelief. “Do you even realize the disaster this could bring to our family?”

But Fatee only hummed a tune, skipping away cheerfully.
