Introduction and Safiyya’s Book Update

I hope our fasting and prayers went well. May Allah accept our acts of worship and make us among His liberated servants, Ameen.

So, as I promised to write Safiyya after prayers, here I am trying to fulfill it 😁. Please pray for me, asking Allah to grant me the strength to complete it. Lol.

Believe me, I had intended to write it on impulse, and later I started questioning, "Is it really possible?" But I have already told you, and whenever I speak, I try my best to fulfill it. However, sometimes it’s beyond my control, as nobody is perfect. Insha Allah, we will try, but you’ll have to be patient if updates are delayed. Know that I am doing my utmost.

As I said, the book Safiyya will hopefully be free from start to finish, depending on whether we get at least twenty sponsors. I ask you, readers, to support the sponsors so they enjoy providing the book for you. If we don’t get sponsors, Safiyya will become a paid book after the free pages.

I hope we will enjoy this journey with Safiyya and Gidado. It may be challenging 😁, but I promise a smooth landing.

Tell Me You Love Me” Scene

“Tell me you love me,” she said, her voice whispering into his ear as if speaking to him just now. He covered his ears with both hands and squeezed his eyes shut, but it seemed to sharpen his vision and hearing instead. What he forgot was that the voice was coming from within his mind, not from the surroundings. In his eyes, he saw her face, as clear as a full moon. Sitting in his car, her face carried a smile that cured all his worries, her eyes full of love for him.

“Tell me you love me,” she said, adjusting her phone camera to his face. He raised one hand to shield his face, smiling. “Stop it!” he said laughing. She giggled and changed the camera angle to reveal the part of his face he hadn’t covered. “Just tell me, why are you shying away from a simple question? Do you love me?”

He tried to frown but couldn’t, unable to be angry in her presence. Leaning on the car seat headrest, he looked at her camera and said, “Do you really need to ask?” She replied, “Of course. I want to hear you say it.” He closed his eyes briefly and said, “What about the camera then?” She said, “As evidence. I want to record you saying it so that if you ever claim you don’t love me, I’ll have proof to take to the court of lovers.”

He laughed and tried to push the camera away, but she moved it out of reach. “Confess! Say you love me,” she said. He put his hand down, realizing she wasn’t giving him the phone. “Come on! Why should I be the one to say it? Why won’t you say it?”

She tilted her head and said, “Because I said so… Whatever I want, I get. Now I want you to say you love me.” She pouted playfully.

He sighed, “You are impossible, Piya. What can I say that you don’t already know?” She prompted, “That you love me?” He said, “You already know that; you just enjoy…” She mimicked his voice, “You enjoy teasing me,” and laughed. “You are right, I knew you wouldn’t say it. I only wanted to see that,” she said, pointing at his face. He touched his face like searching for something. “See what?” She replied, “Your face is red, my dear. You’re blushing,” and laughed again.

He sighed. “Piya! You are…” “Impossible,” she finished, mimicking him. He glared at her. “Stop that!” She repeated, “Stop that!” He quickly snatched the phone and turned the camera to her face. She covered her face with her hands, laughing. He zoomed in on her fingers. “Who did I catch?” he teased. “Now, tell me you love me.” She revealed her face, making a playful grimace. He smiled, “If it’s truly shamelessness you feel, say it out loud. Say you love me,” he whispered.

She reached for the door handle. “Open the door for me. I’m going to the hostel.” He said, “Enough, today you must say it. And I will record it, save it, and when we get married and have children, I will show them how their mother fell for me.” She rolled her eyes, “Who told you that?” He replied, “I just know. From the first day you saw me, you couldn’t stay away from me. You were confused, and you said no to everyone but me.”

She laughed. “The first day I saw you, loving you was the last thing on my mind. I didn’t even know what love was.” He said, “Huh? That’s why you left your seat to come to mine? Admit it, Piya, you were attracted to me.” She averted her eyes. “That’s why since that day, wherever I go, you follow.” He said, “Exactly, and this is just the beginning. Wherever you go, I will follow. And one day I’ll be your husband before you even say it.”

She lowered her head, saying nothing, feeling the weight of his gaze. He put down the phone and sighed. “Please Piya, I think it’s time I take you to Daddy. You haven’t finished classes yet, right?” She looked up, locking eyes with him. “Only if you bribe me,” she said, adjusting herself and touching his pocket. He replied, “Whatever you want, just say it. You know I could give you the world if it were mine. I could go to the… to the…” She finished, “End of the earth.” He smiled, “Yes, I could go to the end of the earth for you.” She smiled, looking at her hands, lost in thought as she always does when he talks about marriage. Absentmindedly, she said, “But the earth doesn’t have an end; it’s spherical.” He replied, “I don’t care. You know what I mean. I can do anything for you.” She turned to look outside, silent, while he watched her thoughtfully. “But how do you do it?” he asked. “Do what?” “Finish my sentences. You always seem to know what’s on my mind before I say it.” She smiled beautifully, her eyes reflecting all the love in her heart. “Because I am your soulmate.”
